Anna Doris Chambers Black affectionately known as Doris passed away February 14th, 2026.
Born September 14th, 1940 to the late Jessie Anderson Knight and Otis “Charlie” Chambers.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Wondecka Johnson, Brother Leonard Chambers, sister Evelyn Henderson McCuin, mother Jessie Anderson Knight, father Otis “Charlie” Chambers, maternal grandparents Denard and Porthina Miller Anderson, paternal grandparents Powell and Lizzie Chambers and husband Samuel Black.
A graduate of Jackson High School Tyler, Tx, Doris worked in retail most notably Reagan’s for many years. Moving on to Leon’s and eventually retiring from Dillard’s after 18 years.
Doris is survived by four children Terri Black-Blackmore, Christopher Bates, Kimberly Black-Bridges and Carlos Black all of Tyler, Texas. Sisters Kathy Henderson and Jan Knight of Los Angeles CA. Son-in-Law Nathaniel Johnson, Kilgore, TX and along with ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews.
Her mind is at ease and her spirit is free. May her soul rest in peace.
