Brenda “Sue” Corley, of Flint, Texas, age 71, went peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father on the evening of Friday, September 26th.
Sue was a Native Texan born on May 1, 1954, in Fort Stockton to Ana Jo & Preston Gray. She met Tom Corley in Tyler, and they married on September 30, 1989. They moved several times for his job. Springhill, LA, Vidalia, GA, and Lynnhaven, FL were places they called home until Tom retired in May of 2006, and they settled at their home on Lake Palestine.
Being the youngest sibling, she was not much older than some of her nieces and nephews. She loved them so much! She was their adventurous, mischievous, smart, tell it like it is, so much fun, best friend Aunt Sudie. Fishing, riding her motorcycle, & family games of 42 are just a few of the precious memories they have with her.
Sue was a TRUE Dallas Cowboy fan. Win or lose, she loved those boys! She enjoyed all kinds of music (the louder, the better) , playing slots at the casino (and she actually won sometimes), the horse races (she won the KY Derby Trifecta one year!), her dogs Lucy & Mickey (and Farta, Annie, Bella, & Mande that had crossed the rainbow bridge). Most of all, though, she loved Tom and her family.
We’ll miss you Sue, Aunt Sudie, Sister, Grandma Sue. We find some comfort and peace knowing that we’ll see you again someday.
Our family would like to voice our appreciation for the nurses & doctors in the CVICU @ Christus Heart Hospital for taking such good care of Sue, the amazing hospice team that helped navigate us through the scary & confusing process of comfort care, and to our family and friends that prayed for her, checked on us and are continuing to do so. Sometimes it’s difficult to see the blessings through the storm so we wanted to recognize some of ours.
