Carl David Finch

Carl David Finch, 65, of Jacksonville, Texas, passed away on March 26, 2026. Born to David VanBuren Finch and Anna Marie Trotter on November 17, 1960, Carl lived a life centered around the things that mattered most to him: family, friendship, and creating memories with the people he loved.

Carl was a man who truly loved the simple and most meaningful things in life: time spent with family and friends, a fishing pole in his hand, and good food shared with the people he loved most. He was known as the best cook around, and his famous hot sauce won many awards over the years, something he took great pride in and loved sharing with others. He also had a deep love for his animals, caring for them with the same loyalty and heart he gave to the people closest to him.

Anyone who knew Carl knew how proud he was of his cooking. If he ever gave you a compliment on something you made, you could take that with real pride because he truly believed he was the only good cook around. That playful confidence and sense of humor was part of what made him so unforgettable.

Carl is now reunited in Heaven with his mother, father, and sister. Left to carry on his legacy are his children, Brody Finch and wife Nikki, Kali Johnson and husband Tyler, Nichole Finch, Bo Cruz, and Jennifer Finch, as well as nieces and nephews who were like his own children. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Devin, Keaton, Conlyn, Kaison, Brazos, Ezra, Julia, and Axel, along with many extended family members, treasured friends, and the animals he loved so dearly.

In accordance with Carl's wishes, there will not be a formal service. Instead, he encouraged those who loved him to gather with their own families and friends, fire up the grill, and share a meal in his honor. He believed that you never know when the good Lord calls you home, and that the memories we make together mean far more than any worldly possession.

Carl's memory will live on in every fishing trip, every family gathering, every shared meal, every laugh around the grill, and every story told in his honor. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
