David Alan Pate, 57, of Troup, Texas passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025 in a traffic collision in Cherokee County.

David was born in Jacksonville, Texas to parents Otis Ray Pate and Sunshine Townsend Pate both formerly of Troup.

David was preceded in death by both of his parents; his daughter, Robin Sunshine Nicole Pate; and his brother, Robert “Butch” Townsend.

David is survived by his brother, Byron Ray Townsend and wife, Kathy of Troup; brother, Paul Pate of Troup; nieces; nephews; and several cousins.
