Doris Judith Burns, 82, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2024, in Tyler, Texas. She was born to Willie & Emma Jewel Stanley on July 3, 1941 in Italy, Texas. A private celebration of life will be on June 22, 2024, in Tyler, Texas. Please contact her granddaughter, Angelica Suelyn White Stampley or her daughter, Wynelle Burns Cowdery for information.

 Doris was preceded in death by both her father and mother, Willie & Emma Stanley, husband Franklin Aubrey Burns, brother Leon Alfice Stanley, and sister-in-law Shirley Stanley. She is survived by her daughter Wynelle Burns Cowdery, son-in-law Paul Cowdery, daughter Sharon Gutierrez Burns, granddaughter Angelica Suelyn Burns Stampley (Kristopher Stampley), granddaughter Gabriella Stanford (Stephen Stanford), grandson Joshua Gutierrez, and great-grandsons Luca Stanford & Lamar Stampley, several nieces & nephews, and extended family Chris Gutierrez and George White.

 Doris graduated high school at Meridian High School in Meridian, Texas. Doris & Franklin Burns were married in Moody, Texas at First Assembly of God Church where her parents, Willie & Emma Stanley were pastoring. A month later they moved to Graford, Texas to open a church that had been closed for several months. They lived very close to Possum Kingdom Lake. Some years later, they published their book, “Beyond Possum Kingdom, Adventures of Faith with an Awesome God” it is all about their (in 2015) 54 years of Ministry all over the US, and several countries around the world. Their work involved tent crusades, open air meetings, and building churches from the ground up. All-in-all they were in ministry over 65 years together, taking Revival to the Nations.
