Edgar Nolan Downs, 72, of Jacksonville, went to be with his Lord on Friday evening, January 10, 2025. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday afternoon, January 15, 2025, at New Energy Cemetery, in Crockett, to begin at 1:30pm. A viewing in the cemetery will begin at 1:00pm prior to the service.

Edgar was born in Crockett, Texas, August 29, 1952, to parents John and Pearline Downs. He was a grocery store manager by trade. 

He was preceded by his Father, John L. Downs, Sr., Mother, Pearline Downs, Brother, John L Downs, Jr., Sister, Tiny P. Wilson, and Sister, Vera A. Bynum.

He is survived by his Sister, Josephine Hester, Brother, R.L. Downs, Sister, Dorine Kirksey, Sister, Anita M. Harris, and Sister, Janita P. Waller.
