Edward Woods passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026, at his home in Woodlawn, Texas at the age of 64.  He was born February 9, 1962, in Houston, TX, the third son of Larry Donald Woods and Melba Roberts Woods.  Edward attended Marshall public schools and was proud to be part of the Maverick’s football and baseball teams.

He worked as a welder and handy man and loved to fish. He was a devoted son, brother and friend, always willing to help anyone that needed it and asking nothing in return.

Edward was preceded in death by grandparents Elton and Elease Woods, Woodrow and Lola Mae Roberts, aunts Betty Garl, Myrtle Allgood, and Sandra Roberts, uncles Eddie Garl, John Woods, James and David Roberts, and sister-in-law Deedra Cummins Woods.     

He is survived by Mother Melba Roberts Woods, brothers Don and Larry Woods, sister-in-law Melanie Williams Woods, nephew Mark Woods, niece Cheyenne Woods, best friend Cindy Garl Pearcy, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. 

The family would like to invite you to a memorial service for Edward.   The memorial service is scheduled for September 12, 2026, at 2:00 pm.  The service will be held at Victory Baptist Church in Marshall Texas (607 E Burleson, Marshall, TX 75670).
