It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Norman Lindsey on June 16, 2026. Born on July 9, 1962, in Jacksonville, Texas,  

George was the son of the late Wylie "Dub F" and Floreta "Fay" Lindsey. He joins his beloved wife, Marian Johannes Lindsey, in eternal rest, alongside his parents, and his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Judy Lindsey, whose memories he treasured deeply. 

For 26 years, he devoted himself to law enforcement, beginning his career as a dispatcher and jailer, George's journey culminated as a Deputy Sheriff, retiring in 2024 at the rank of Sargent after 20 years of service with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. 

He is survived by his sister, Lesa Lindsey. His niece, Jennifer Dickey, and her husband, Donny, along with his nephew, Scott Lindsey. Stepsons, Joshua and Jeremiah Lindsey, and granddaughters, Aurora Lindsey and Bonnie Bowles. 

Friends and family are invited to celebrate George's life on July 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the First Methodist Church, located at 1031 Loop 456, Jacksonville, Texas for visitation followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.   

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Hospice of East Texas or the First Methodist Church of Jacksonville.
