James David Godwin, 82, of Henderson Texas passed away on February 28, 2023. 

David was born on October 5, 1940 to Millie Akin Godwin and Ernest Milton Godwin in McKinney Texas.

In 1980 David married his wife; Linda.  In 1992 David retired from TUFUEL Co. and spent his time doing what he loved traveling, hunting, and fishing with his loving wife by his side. 

David was predeceased by his mother; Millie Akin Godwin in 1997 and then father Earnest Godwin in 2018. He is survived by his wife Linda Godwin of Henderson Texas; His sister, Judy Willburn and her husband David Willburn of Arlington Texas;  His sons,  James Wade Godwin and wife Renee Godwin of Rowlett;  Jeff Godwin and his wife Katheryn Godwin of Princeton; and Barry Godwin and his wife Cathleen Godwin of Weatherford; Grandchildren, Amanda Godwin, James Dylan Godwin, Savannah Godwin, Lance Titus, Chris Bullitt, Janine Godwin, Graham Godwin, Jordan Smith, Bailea Arenas; Great Grandchildren, Rylan Godwin, James Wayne Godwin, Kenzie Smith, and Connor Smith. 

At David’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
