John Ed Langston, 84 Bullard Texas

Passed away peacefully on June 30th, 2024

Born September 17, 1939, to Harvey & Susie (Main) Langston, Palestine Texas

Graduate of Maydelle High School & Henderson County Junior College Bachelor’s in Nursing. John served as a nurse at Rusk State Hospital, Rusk Tx and Parkland Hospital, Dallas Tx.

John and Dorothy moved to Bullard in December of 1963. John worked 3 years at Tyler General Electric before becoming a Tyler Fireman. John retired as Lieutenant from the Tyler Fire Department with 20 years of service (1966-1986). John was awarded Fireman of the year (1971). John also retired as the Bullard City Supervisor from the city of Bullard with over with over 10 years of service. John served 17 years as Trustee for Bullard ISD and was inducted into the Bullard Wall of Honor in 2012.

John was a member of the Bullard Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years as to which the Bullard Fire Station was dedicated in his honor.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church Gresham. John was a Master Mason and member of the Bullard Masonic Lodge #785.

John loved spending time with his family and getting together for all family celebrations. John loved to hunt and fish for catfish at many area lakes. Over the last several years he took pleasure in camping at Salmon Lake enjoying the Gospel and Bluegrass Festivals.

John was proceeded in death by his loving wife Dorothy (Hughes) Langston, Parents Harvey & Susie Langston, Brothers Larry Don Langston and Dale Langston.

John is survived by sons Alan (Denise) Langston of Mixon, Jerry (Carolyn) Langston of Bullard and Daughter Nancy (Darryl) Welmaker of Bullard. Brothers Harvey L. Langston of Palestine and Jerry D. Langston of Bullard. Grandchildren Brandon Langston, Brian Langston, Paxton Moore, Kara Molina, Kelsie Benge, Jonathan Welmaker, Jeremey Welmaker, Jenni Stocks, Cassie Langston, Jake Langston. 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, along with many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be John’s grandson’s: Brandon Langston, Brian Langston, Paxton Moore, Jonathan Welmaker, Jeremy Welmaker, Brice Strickland, Jake Langston and Justin Langston.

Honorary Pallbearers: Mike Newburn, Dee Merritt, Roy Thoene, Hayden Welmaker and Collin Welmaker.

Visitation will be Tuesday July 2nd from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Boren-Conner Funeral Home Bullard, Tx.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday July 3rd at 10:00am at Boren-Conner Funeral Home Bullard, Tx.

Will be laid to rest at Bullard Cemetery.
