Jonna Ditto, 61, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, passed away on the morning of December 11 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Jonna dedicated her entire career to teaching, a calling she embraced with passion, patience, and a genuine love for helping others learn. She was also a gifted musician whose life was deeply shaped by music. She especially loved the French horn and percussion, and she shared that love generously with her students, colleagues, and anyone fortunate enough to hear her play. Music was not just a hobby for her—it was a source of joy, expression, and connection.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Ditto, and her mother, Anna Smith.
Jonna is survived by her brother, Doug Ditto; her stepfather, Robert Smith; her stepbrother, Brad Smith; her stepsister, Molly Smith; and numerous cousins who loved her dearly.
A small graveside service will be held with immediate family near her childhood home of Rogersville, MO.
Jonna will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Her kindness, her devotion to teaching, and the music she brought into the world will continue to echo in the lives she touched.
