Judith Ives, 70, of Mount Pleasant, TX succumbed to her battle with cancer peacefully in Tyler, TX on July 14th. Her battle was longstanding, and though the most recent fatal attack was relatively sudden, it was discovered soon enough to make Judy’s final days restful and comfortable. In her final days of consciousness, she was blessed with the presence of countless family and friends who were gifted the opportunity to see Judy one last time before her journey up to her Lord and savior – a journey made much peaceful in her knowledge that her love for us all will continue to keep us connected in her absence.
Judy, a devout Christian and follower of Jesus, lived her life true to the giving spirit whether she knew you, or didn’t. Though, if she did know you, the limits of her giving would often extend beyond maximum capacity. Whether it be a car someone needed to go to work, rent someone needed to stay sheltered, a bedroom someone needed for peace and quiet, or a toy, game or outfit for a child they knew came from their Mimi, Mimi would figure it out. And Mimi almost always figured it out.
In her final days Judy was surrounded by three generations of family, and they were filled much with what her days on Earth were filled with – her children, grandchildren, jokes, stories, arguments (and reconciles), Christian music, apple fritters, The Nanny, and cartoons. And, lots and lots of hugs.
Judy is succeeded in life by her four daughters Sarah, Alice, Rebecca and Sunday, her three son-in-laws J.J., Adam and Will, and her grandchildren Noah, Brayson, Maddie, Teagan, Josiah, Emory, and Charlene – the last of which is expected to grace us this October. Whether baby Charlene knows it or not, her Mimi will continue to find ways to give for her as she did everyone else that was blessed to know her in life.
