June Gay Springfield, age 58, of Grapeland, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. Born on June 24, 1966, June was raised in Cypress, Texas, where she spent most of her life. She ran track at Cy-Fair High School and later went on to own and operate a successful home renovation and resale business.
June later made her home in Grapeland, Texas, where she became an active member of the community. She was a proud member of the Grapeland Noon Lion’s Club and found great joy in her faith, attending Sunset Christian Church and participating in the Ladies Bible Study group.
June will be remembered for her generous heart, uplifting spirit, and vibrant personality. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to caring for others, especially those in need, working in roles that supported the mentally disabled and elderly, spreading her faith, and always offering encouragement to those around her.
Her passions included painting, gardening, beach trips, and helping others. Above all else, June was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time creating lasting memories with her family.
She is survived by her three daughters: Crystal Strifley (husband Larry and daughter Sarah), Ariel Gould (husband Axel and their children Khalil, Nadine, and Anna), and Ashley White. She is also survived by her mother, Shelley Scholz; brothers, Mark and Ray Scholz; and many other cherished family members and friends.
June’s light and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19th at Sunset Christian Church, 1813 FM-227 in Grapeland, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hospice of East Texas by visiting https://hospiceofeasttexas.org/giving/memory/ .
