Larry Bruce Swinney

On January 27, 2022, Larry Bruce Swinney lost a long battle with cancer. He was 80 years old. He is survived by his daughter, Terri Cauley and her husband, currently stationed in South Korea, his son, Marcus Swinney, currently in Dayton, Texas, and five grandchildren, Erin, Ashlee, Julie, Naysa, and Ethan. He is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn Black Swinney of Tyler, his parents, Floyd and Marvelle Swinney of Arp, and his brother, Dale Swinney of Chapel Hill. Bruce grew up in Arp, went to school at Stephen F. Austin where he earned a BA in Education, and resided most of his life in Tyler. He loved books, history, and old-fashioned letter writing. He was a unique Christian man that was loved by all. He leaves a hole in all of our hearts. Viewing, February 3, 6-8pm, Boren-Conner Funeral Home, HWY 69 S, Bullard. Graveside funeral, February 4, 2pm, Williams Cemetery, 16342 HWY 64, Tyler. Bring a lawn chair for this homegoing celebration.
