Linda Ann Rehm, beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt, friend, and faithful servant, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was 82 years old.

Linda was born on March 14, 1944, in Abilene, Texas, to Wilk Avery "Dick" and Mary Ruth Dickenson. She graduated from Abilene High School and attended the University of Oklahoma.

After college, while working at the Sears Roebuck catalog store in Snyder, Texas, Linda met the love of her life, Wendell Rehm. The two married on March 22, 1964, beginning a beautiful marriage and partnership that lasted more than 62 years. Together, they raised two children, Jae Lynn and Braxton, who were the pride and joy of Linda's life. She loved her children deeply and she was immensely proud of them, always supporting them, encouraging them, and celebrating their accomplishments. Her family was her greatest blessing, and the love she had for them was at the heart of everything she did.

Linda spent many years working in the sales industry, including positions with Snyder Janitorial Supplies and Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. She also owned a wedding and tuxedo store and worked as a bridal consultant, helping countless brides celebrate one of the most important days of their lives.

Music was one of Linda's greatest gifts and passions. A wonderful pianist and organist, she taught piano lessons and faithfully served as a church organist for 37 years. Her love of music touched generations and remained an important part of her life.

Linda was deeply involved in her community. During her years in Abilene, she served as president of the American Business Women's Association and was a member of the Philharmonic Guild, Hospice of Abilene, Leadership Abilene, and the Junior League of Abilene.

After retirement, Linda and Wendell embraced their love of travel, spending 17 wonderful years traveling throughout the United States and Canada in their motor home. They also enjoyed international travel, visiting many countries and experiencing different cultures, landscapes, and traditions together. Cruising was another favorite pastime, giving them the opportunity to explore new destinations while enjoying time together at sea.

In 2015, Linda and Wendell established roots once again, this time in Tyler, Texas. In 2024, they moved to Meadowlake Senior Living Community, where Linda enjoyed the friendships and community around her.

Linda was a member of Marvin Methodist Church and the Seekers Sunday School Class. She also volunteered with Hospice of East Texas, continuing her lifelong commitment to caring for and serving others.

But perhaps Linda's greatest joy was being a Nana.

She cherished every moment with her grandchildren and took great pride in watching them grow into the people they were becoming. She loved attending their events, cheering them on, hosting Nana camp, and being present for the special milestones and moments that mattered to them. Whether it was a graduation, celebration, school event, family gathering, or simply time together, Linda treasured the memories she made with her grandchildren.

She loved playing cards and games with her family, sharing laughter around the table, and creating the kind of simple, meaningful moments that become treasured memories. Being Nana wasn't just a title to Linda — it was a role she embraced with her whole heart. Her grandchildren knew they were loved, supported, celebrated, and always had a special place in her heart.

Linda also found joy in sewing, knitting, and most of all, spending time with the people she loved. Family was at the center of her life, and the love she gave so freely will continue through the generations she leaves behind.

Linda fought a hard and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease and cancer. Through the challenges of her final years, she was surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Her passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness, but there is comfort knowing that she is now free from pain and at peace.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Mary Ruth Dickenson, and her sister, Sandra Hanson.

She is survived by her devoted husband of more than 62 years, Wendell Rehm; daughter, Jae Lynn Akin, son-in-law, Chad; son, Braxton Rehm, daughter-in-law, Annie; grandchildren, Rachel McBride (Charlie), Caroline Akin, Abigail Rehm, Christopher Bornmann, and Thomas Bornmann; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends who loved her dearly.

Linda leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, family, friendship, music, and service. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family will carry forward the lessons she taught them, the traditions she created, and the countless memories she made with them.

Swing wide, pearly gates — Linda is home and free from pain. We know Jesus welcomed her with open arms, and we can imagine her hearing those precious words: "Well done, good and faithful servant."

She has received her angel wings and is forever in our hearts.

A celebration of Linda's life will be held on September 18th, 2026 at 10:30 am at Meadow Lake Senior Living Center in Tyler Texas. She will be interred at the VA Cemetery in Abilene, Texas at a future date.
