Margie Verl Dickinson Preast

Margie Verl Dickinson Preast ­­of Tyler, passed away on Tuesday, January 18th at Oak Book Healthcare Center in Whitehouse. Her graveside service will be held at 2pm Tuesday January 25th, 2022 Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Bullard, Texas, officiated by Pastor Mike Ford. Visitation will be held at 1:30pm before the service.

Margie was born Sept 26th, 1930 in Tribbey, Oklahoma to JP (Tex) and Ruth Dickinson. She grew up in McAdoo, Texas and married Robert (Bobby) Preast on November 29, 1952 in Lubbock, Texas. They lived in his hometown, Rome, Georgia, before moving back to Lubbock where they raised their two children. They lived in Kansas for a short time before settling in Tyler, Texas in 1978. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She and Bobby loved to travel and visited 48 states and two countries. They also created a joint business making wood crafts and selling at craft shows for several years. Margie loved her growing family more than anything in the world, enjoyed a hot Chick-fil-A sandwich and had the biggest sweet tooth of anyone we know. We know she is beyond overjoyed to be reunited with her teenage and lifelong love, Bobby.

Margie Preast was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Frank and Lee Dickinson and sister Melba Windsor.

Those that survive her include her son, Robert Preast Jr and wife Katie of Alba, and her daughter, Judy Bales and husband Walter of Elkhart; grandchildren Wendy Blackmon and husband Jordan of Troup, Jamie Cumming and Thomas of Kaufman, Bryan Preast and wife Lisa of Wailuku, and Misty McAree and husband John of Alba; ten great-grandchildren Nate Cumming, Adah Cumming, Riley Blackmon, Briley Cumming, Josiah Cumming, Evie Blackmon, Joshua Cumming, Ava Cumming, Bodhi Preast, Madilynn McAcree and grandchild number 11 in expected in June; brother Ray and wife Joan Dickinson of Decatur, Arkansas; sister in law Flo Dickinson of Siloam Springs, brother in law CR Gentry and sister in law Jane Gentry of Rome, Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to a charity of your choice.
