Monte Hollingsworth, a beloved soul with a heart full of adventure, compassion, and love for others, who peacefully departed this world on September 23, 2026, at his daughter's home.

Born in Carmi, Illinois, on February 10, 1950, to Genave Escobedo and Robert "Holly" Hollingsworth, Monte was a cherished son who carried throughout his life a legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion to the people and animals he loved. He graduated from Turpin High School in 1968.

Monte proudly served his country in the United States Army, honorably dedicating a part of his life to serving his fellow citizens. Following his military service, he built a remarkable and unconventional career centered around his love of horses, animals, and the great outdoors.

Monte took national and international teams on trail rides, often creating an authentic chuckwagon experience that brought adventure and the spirit of the Old West to life. While living in California, he served as stud manager for the well-known Granja Vista del Rio Ranch, where he continued sharing his knowledge and passion for horses with people from many walks of life.

He later became the owner and operator of Double Diamond Horse Transport which then became the nationally known Triple H Horse Transport in Oklahoma. Monte transported racehorses and all types of horses throughout the United States, as well as to Canada and Mexico. His work even took him to Hawaii, where he transported a load of horses across the Pacific. His reputation and expertise were so well regarded that he was sought out by the Bush/Cheney team for the 55th Presidential Inauguration in January 2005 to transport their horses.

A man of many interests and a true adventurer, Monte found joy in the excitement of drag racing, the camaraderie of car shows, and the thrill of sand dune rides. He was an avid gun collector who also enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending countless hours outdoors. Whether working with horses, exploring the open road, enjoying a race, or simply spending time with family and friends, Monte embraced life with enthusiasm and an unmistakable sense of adventure.

Monte was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Flak Hollingsworth; his parents, Genave Escobedo and Robert "Holly" Hollingsworth; his stepmother, Joey Hollingsworth; his brothers, Danny Hollingsworth, John Houghton, and Scott Houghton; and his sister, Marti LaJoie.

His legacy continues through his surviving sister, Judy (Robert) Hindman; brother, Larry LaJoie; and his cherished daughters, Misty (Matt) Campbell and Miranda (Daniel) Badillo. Monte's greatest pride and joy were grandchildren: Deven, Zane, Clay, Noah, Heydan, and Malorie. Each held a special place in his heart, and each carries memories of the love, wisdom, laughter, and lessons he shared with them.

He is also survived by his stepfather, Daniel Escobedo, step children Shane, Audrey, and DJ (Jennifer) Bush and his children Zach, Shelby, Lane, and Wild, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Monte's life on November 7th, at 1:00 p.m. at God's House of Power, located at 2940 Poplar Dr., Moore, OK 73160.

Monte lived a life that could never be described as ordinary. His love of horses, adventure, the outdoors, and the people around him shaped a life filled with stories, friendships, and unforgettable experiences. His spirit will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

His legacy of service, adventure, devotion to family, and deep connection with friends will live on through the countless lives he touched. Though he may no longer be riding the open trail, Monte's journey continues in the memories, stories, and love he leaves behind.
