Morris Dewitt Crymes

Morris Dewitt Crymes, 82, of Whitehouse, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023 and went to be with his Savior in heaven. He was born August 5, 1940 in New nata, Arkansas to hard-working, Christian parents Ruby and Marshall Crymes. Morris put his faith in Christ as a young boy. He loved his Lord, and he always had a kind word to share with others about his faith.

He married his high school sweetheart Rose in June of 1960. They laid their roots in Shields, Michigan and began their family shortly after. They continued to be active in their church and community.

In the 1970s, the Crymes family moved to Texas to further expand Morris’ construction business. Morris was a founding member of Hill Creek Baptist Church in Whitehouse, Texas. He served as a deacon for 35 years. In addition to his deacon role, Morris served as a church handyman and Sunday coffee maker.

He loved to play golf and belonged to the Hilltop Country Club for 39 years. On November 23, 2018, Morris hit a coveted “hole in one” shot. Tinkering with his golf cart was also a beloved pastime.

Morris and Rose often had a garden, in Michigan and in Texas. Morris was proud to be an honorary member of the Whitehouse Young Farmers Association.

During their golden years, Morris and Rose loved to travel. They would hook the camper to the truck and head out down the road. Their favorite places were Arkansas, Michigan, and Missouri, to name a few. Morris was an avid angler. He and Rose spent several summers fishing at Roaring River in Missouri.

He is preceded in death by his father Marshall and mother Ruby, as well as his brother Darrell. Morris is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rose; children Kim Seigler (Larry), Tim Crymes, Brian Crymes (Melissa), all of Whitehouse; brother Herschel Crymes (Charlotte) of Whitehouse; sister-in-law Tina Crymes of Whitehouse, as well as many neices and nephews. Grandchildren are Kristen Ulsh (John) of Allen; Jared Seigler (Brandi) of Flint; Blakeman Crymes (Sarah) of Whitehouse; Autumn Wyscarver-Smith (Josh) of Whitehouse. Great grandchildren are Jacob Ulsh, Kayson Crymes, Ryleigh Crymes, Harrison Seigler, Hudson Seigler, Wyscarver-Smith, and Chandler Crymes.

Visitation will be Wednesday February 22nd at 10:00 AM at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Whitehouse, Texas, with funeral service following at 11:00 AM. Internment will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Whitehouse.
