In Loving Memory of Nancy Jo Mellon. It’s with an incredibly heavy heart that I share the heart-breaking loss of my mother, Nancy Jo Mellon. She passed away on August 31, 2026, and was 66 years young. She was a 1977 graduate from Thomas Dale High School in Chester, VA. She recently retired from being an OT Tech at Mexia State Supported Living Center. She is now reunited in Heaven with her parents David Sr. and Josefina Hagler, her brother David Halger Jr., her sister Patricia Bocek. Nancy is survived by her daughter Shelby Jo Mellon, sister Cheryl Hahn, brother Michael Hagler (& Debbie), and handful of nieces and nephews who all loved her very much.

She was so much more than a friend, family member, co-worker, and mother. She was an extremely loving person and had a beautiful soul both inside and out. She had a laughter that was contagious and she’d made you laugh until your belly ached, or smile until your cheeks hurt. She enjoyed all things of arts and crafts or decorating related, dancing and singing, as well as volunteering to help others in need (Children, Men, Women, and even Animals).  She will be missed by many friends and family, near and far as she had a true heart of gold.

Until we are together again dancing in the stars, I'll look for you everywhere. I love you to the moon, and back, and all around.
