Nina Mae Garrett, 99, of Rusk, passed through Heavens Gate on  August 21, 2023. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Meador Cemetery in Jacksonville, Texas, to begin at 10:00am - with Rev. Paul Smith officiating. A visitiation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

Nina Mae Garrett was born in Troup, Texas. Her mother was Addie Mae Colvin. Nina was a Homemaker adoreded by many.

Nina is preceded by her parents, her husband, Billy Garrett, her son, Kevin Ray Garrett, and her son-in-law, James Bubba Cook.

Nina is survived by daughter, Carol Cook, daughter, Sherry Phifer and spouse David, son, Charles Wayne Garrett. Nina Mae Garrett has 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Donny Garrett, Brandon Daniel, Jason Garrett, Jamie Garrett, and Justin Garrett.
