Noah was truly a unique human being. He tried to help everyone he met with patience and kindness. He tried to find the best in everyone. He was a self-taught truck driver after learning carpentry and other skills. He taught at Western Pacific Truck School under Mrs. Greta Nord whom he totally respected before the company was finally sold, to pass on his unique skills as well as mandated state skills. He loved seeing everyone he taught accomplish what they were striving for as well as passing on his own abilities to help them with their careers. "Ain't no thing but a chicken wing!" was probably his favorite saying for them. Noah started as a teen hauling hay, picking vegetables, then raising animals for FFA, working in oil fields and driving big equipment. After the army, he worked in lumber yards and could look at lumber and tell you what kind. Amazing. Noah wanted to learn to drive truck and was self taught. He then used that knowledge to teach others to drive big semi trucks. He enjoyed teaching others what he had learned from self teaching that couldn’t be learned from a book. He had a gift for teaching others. He was a self taught guitarist and song writer with a vast collection of songs. He had a wonderful voice and pitch. He could also sing country classics like the original artists.
Noah served for the Army, stationed in Oakland, orders to Vietnam then diverted to Marin County where he became a guard dog handler and MP for Fort Barry missile base, orders to Korea but diverted, where he met and married his wife Helen. 2 years active, 4 inactive 70-72, stationed then Army National Guard, Tyler, Texas until 1975 when his first son was born.
