Patsy Gail Tyner, 77, of Tyler, passed away Thursday morning, May 21, 2026. A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Saturday morning, June 6, 2026, at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler, Texas, to begin at 10:00am. Pastor Thom Clark will officiate the service.
Patsy was born in Odessa, Texas, on December 7, 1948, to parents Deward and Anna Tyner. Patsy attended John Tyler High School, Tyler Junior College, and Stephen F. Austin University while obtaining her education. Patsy was proud to have worked as a Program Administrator for the Texas Department of Health for 32 years, retiring in August of 2003. Patsy was very talented, some of her hobbies include home decorating, shopping for antiques, and spending time with family and friends.
Patsy was Baptist, she loved her church family dearly and they loved deeply too. Patsy was a beautiful lady, a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many – she will be missed by all.
Patsy is preceded by her Father, Deward William Tyner, Mother, Anna Elizabeth Tyner, Brother, Douglas Tyner, Sr., and Brother, David Tyner.
Patsy is survived by her Sister, Carrie Tyner, Special Friend, Alice Faye Hoot, Special Friend, Sarah Harris, sister-in-law, Priscilla Tyner, Aunt, Trudy McGill, Aunt, Nancy McGill, Niece, Sheri Tyner, Niece, Bethany Tyner, Niece, Leanne Tyner, Niece, Nicole Hermance, Nephew, Douglas Tyner, Jr., Nephew, Alan Tyner, Nephew, Scott Tyner, Nephew, David Tyner, and extended family, Jeff, Traci, Avary Cox, and Tripp Hornischer.
Patsy's message to loved ones and her philosophy on life: “…Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: "WOW, what a ride!!"
