Paula Lorene Roper, 73, of Mixon passed through Heaven’s gate on April 6, 2024.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12th, at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Jacksonville, to begin at 2:00 PM, with Bro. Joe Ballard officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday evening at Boren-Conner Funeral home in Jacksonville from 6-8 PM. Interment will be held at Mixon cemetery. Michael McKnight will be singing at the Funeral. 

Paula was born to Willie Mac & Ethel Arnold on January 5, 1951, in Henderson, Texas. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who held a long passion and career working as a secretary before having her children, where she then devoted herself to them and being the best wife she could be.

Paula is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and respected past master of Dixie lodge 272 in Troup, Texas, Lonnie Dale Roper. She is also preceded in death by her father Willie Mac Arnold and mother Ethel Vonnice Arnold, twin brother Paul Arnold and brother Mack Arnold.

She is survived by two sons, Doyle Mac Roper and wife Amanda of Mixon , and Royce Dale Roper, wife Melissa of Longview . She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, 9 grandchildren; Jacey & husband Alex Barnes of Hallsville, Lacie & husband Mason Sampson of Garland , Josey, Mason, Lashaun, Easton, William, Levi, and Aron. Great grandchildren; Kingston, Princeton, Marleigh, and Bellamy. She will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband Lonnie Dale Roper in Mixon, Texas, who she has missed dearly since they were separated by his passing in 2008.

Pallbearers will be: Mason Sampson, Mason Roper, Steven Roper, Alex Barnes, William Knowles, and Dustin Ramsey.
