Reverend Frederick Thomas Lang, age 87, of Tyler, Texas, passed peacefully through Heaven’s gate on the morning of Friday, August 22, 2025.
Born on July 16, 1938, in Jacksonville, Texas, Frederick was the son of Samuel Rather Lang and Ima Maurice Lang. A dedicated scholar, he earned his Master’s Degree and devoted his life to ministry as a proud Methodist pastor. His faith, compassion, and unwavering commitment to leading others to God shaped every chapter of his life.
Frederick was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Rather Lang; his mother, Ima Maurice Lang; and his brother, Samuel Byron Lang.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jaunita Louise Lang; his son, Mark Thomas Lang and wife Edie; and his daughter, Elizabeth Ruth Neely and husband Todd. He leaves behind a cherished legacy in his grandchildren: Cale Riggs and wife Aimee, Nicole Corley, Carter Lang, Hattie Lang, Marcy Lang, AnneSarah Neely, and Vivienne Neely. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Braden Riggs, Daisy Riggs, and Evie Rose Riggs; as well as many beloved cousins and extended family who will miss him dearly.
