Rhonda Lynn Welch (nee, Meaux) died peacefully on September 20 in Palestine, Tx. She is survived by her children, Jaison Welch, daughter-in-law Sally and grandchildren Frankie and Silas of Tyler, and Erin Welch of Austin, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Neil Welch of Tyler, her mother Estelle Young Turner, father William Cleburt Meaux, and brother Rickie Lee Meaux, all of Mittie, Louisiana. 

Rhonda was one day shy of her 76th birthday. She was a spitfire who knew how to make a wry joke, and was a voracious reader...so much so that she would go to Robert E. Lee football games to watch her kids in the halftime band show, while reading a book the first half of the game, then leave once halftime was done. She may have terrified you with the speed she would drive, but you'd get there on time and mostly safe. Rhonda loved big dogs, and she could not lie. Luckily, at least a little of her intellect and humor was passed down to her kids. 

She will be dearly missed by those who knew her, and her memory will live on in the countless ridiculous and funny stories she inspired and starred in.
