Robert Kenneth Chapman

Robert Kenneth Chapman,63, of Mount Vernon, Texas lost his battle to cancer way too soon on February 15, 2023 surrounded with love by his Daughter, Son-in-law, and 6 of his grandchildren. 

Robert, fondly known as Bob, was born to Robert and Jean Chapman on December 5, 1959 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his son Robert Chapman III and daughter Melissa and her spouse Robert Bell of Bullard, Texas. He also is survived by his sister Lori Frederick, of Reading, Pennsylvania. Bob also leaves behind 11 grandchildren. His grandchildren are Matthew, Andrew, Kolby, Benjamin, Annabella, Remington, Jayden, Gavin, Robert, Hannah, and Jeremiah. Bob also is survived by his neices and nephew, Angelic, Crystal, Michelle, and R.J. 

Bob was a superb bowler who was a member of the American Bowling Congress, where his tournament wins are displayed at the International Bowling Hall of Fame.

Bob dedicated almost 40 years to Centerpoint Energy where his contributions made a real difference in the success of the company. At work he was known as the Godfather. Bob's BBQ skills were on point and he was proud of that. He was also a member of The American  Legion in Mount Vernon, Texas where many good times were had with friends. 

Bob held many titles in his life, but his greatest title was father and grandpa. He loved his children and grandchildren more than anything in the world and everyone knew this. He is known for his hardworking ethic, willingness to help other people, sense of humor, and infectious smile. To know Bob is to love Bob. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. 

Bob's family will host his funeral service on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, At Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Bullard, Texas. Viewing services will be held from 1pm to 2pm - Funeral services start at 2pm.

Family will have a separate reception at a later date on a weekend so those who could not attend have a chance as well. To be announced later.

Elijah's Retreat is an excellent family foundation that helps families with all special needs children and adults to get a break from reality where they can be themselves at their gorgeous farm and also intern to learn life skills. This foundation has been instrumental in the lives of Bob's grandchildren. You can donate online or there will be a donation box at the service if you choose to donate
