Sharon was born on October 25, 1952, in Rusk, Texas to parents Emory and Aubrey Halbert. She was a certified nurse's aide by trade. Sharon was a member of the Oakland Missionary Baptist Church.

Sharon is preceded in death by her father Emory Lee Halbert, mother Aubrey Lee Halbert, and brother Ronald Lee Halbert.

Sharon is survived by her husband Eddie Steve Brooks, brother and sister-in-law James and Carolyn Halbert, Sister-in-law Betty Halbert, sons Rodney Brooks, Cody and wife Christina Brooks, and Shannon Brooks, daughters-in-laws Paula and Lisa Brooks, grandchildren Stephen, Jessica, Justin, Kenny, Taylor, Brandon, Colton, Chloe, and Braxton Brooks, Timothy and Tiffany Galan, great grandchildren Karlee, Rebekah, and David Brooks, and several nieces and nephews.

Sharon and Eddie married on January 29th, 1971. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had many talents including sewing, cooking, baking, decorating, crafting, gardening, and even cutting hair or doing perms on the front porch for family and friends. Sharon loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially during the holidays. Christmas was her absolute favorite! Sharon would go all out with decorations on the tree, fireplace, table, the whole house. Sharon absolutely loved her Christmas village and putting everything out would take days, but she loved it! She never held back on speaking her mind, she was known to just tell you like it is. She could make a meal out of anything and always had enough to feed an army! She was famous for her chocolate pies like no other. Her door was always open to family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Stephen, Justin, Kenny, Taylor, and Brandon Brooks, Timothy Galan and Dylan Thorp.

Please send all floral contributions to Boren-Conner Funeral Home.
