It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Sonny Garland Franklin, 48, of Tyler, Texas, who passed away on July 13, 2026. A devoted husband, loving father, proud Navy Veteran, and familiar face to the local community, he leaves behind a legacy of hard work, service, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.

Born to Ricky Garland Franklin and Sandra Jean Glasgow Franklin, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Sonny answered the call of duty and proudly served in the United States Navy. He carried the values of discipline, honor, and camaraderie throughout his entire life. Following his military service, he built a long and respected career at The Home Depot in Tyler, Texas. He was known for his exceptional work ethic, willingness to help, and the warm, familiar greetings he shared with coworkers and customers alike.

Above all, Sonny was a family man and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Erin and his three children, Zoe, Liam, and Cora. Whether he was guiding his children through life, spending quality time with his wife, or lending a helping hand to his friends, Sonny’s family was always his greatest pride and joy.

Sonny, your memory will always be held in the hearts of everyone who knew you, and you will be deeply missed.

A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Bullard, to begin at 3:00pm. A visitation will begin at 2:00pm prior to the service. Jonathan McAdams will officiate the service.
