Ted Clark

Ted Clark, a devoted husband, father, and a pillar of the Tyler community, passed away on May 8, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on September 19, 1935, to Edwin and Berta Clark in Tyler, Texas, Ted's life was defined by his unwavering faith, his integrity in business, and his deep love for his family.

A proud graduate of Tyler High School, Ted went on to pursue his studies at Southern Methodist University (SMU). He spent his professional life in the automotive industry, a career that began in his teenage years at Holley Motor Company. Through diligence and leadership, he worked his way up to General Manager. In Spring of 1982 Ted embarked on a new chapter by opening his own business, where he continued to work until his retirement.

Beyond his professional achievements, Ted was a man who led by example. His devotion to the Lord was evident in the way he treated others, leaving a lasting mark on every life he touched. In his earlier years, Ted's passion was for his farm and his horses. He spent countless weekends traveling to horse shows with his daughters, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Upon retirement, he traded the farm for the fairway. An avid golfer, Ted could be found on the golf course nearly any day of the week, enjoying the game and the company of his friends.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Berta Clark, and his brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Ramola Clark.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Delight Clark; his daughter and son-in-law, Tami and Jeff Williams, and daughter Tere Stewart. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Cody Davis and wife Crissy, Wes Hitchcock and wife Amanda, Ayla Hitchcock, Ryan Williams and wife Kathryn, and Alyssa Frey and husband Logan. Ted also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy.

A private memorial service will be held to honor Ted's life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to the Hospice of East Texas.

Ted's legacy of kindness, hard work, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
