Thomas Stephen Goleman

Thomas Stephen Goleman, 73, went home to his heavenly Father, Saturday, January 13, 2024.  He leaves behind Jil, his beloved wife of 44 years, and his tiny protector Tinker Toy.  He is survived by his sister Karen (Bill) Waring of San Antonio; brothers Terry (Rob Walker) Goleman of San Antonio and Glenn Goleman of Florence, Alabama; mother-in-law Mary K. Howell of Corpus Christi and brother-in-law Jack Howell of Austin.  He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Jennie Ann Goleman and his brother Stephen Thomas Goleman.

Tom was born March 12, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Judson High School in Converse, Texas where he played football.  He worked in the oilfield service since 1980 and retired from Engine Service and Supply Company in 2021. Tom was President of American Business Club in Odessa which helped handicapped children in the Permian Basin. Tom and Jil loved traveling and Tom was proud to help Jil complete her quest to visit all 50 states. Disney was a favorite of both Tom and Jil. They collect Disney ornaments that adorn their home and Christmas tree. He loved reading about and visiting Civil War battlefields, especially Vicksburg and the World War II Museum in New Orleans. Tom loved animals.  He and Jil enjoyed visiting zoos and Hazel Bazemore Park to watch the deer. Malaquite Beach was one of their favorites, in the early morning or late evening to see the sun and moon rise and marvel at God’s handiwork.  Tom was quite a jokester.  You could see in his eyes when he was thinking of a snappy comeback. The Saturday morning lunch bunch was full of laughter and Tom remains a special person whose presence will be greatly missed.  He was a selfless person who never missed an opportunity to help someone, even if it meant missing out on something he had planned. Tom was an active member of Annaville Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, was a member of the Drama Team, helped with the Hospitality Group, Angel Food Ministry and his favorite, Judgement House.

A Celebration of Tom’s life will be held Saturday, January 27 at Annaville Baptist Church, 4025 Violet Road, Corpus Christi.  Visitation will be at 10 am with the Celebration at 11 am.  Lunch will follow at 12 noon.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of Tom’s favorite Christmas ministries - Operation Christmas Child, c/o Samaritan’s Purse  www.samaritanspurse.org
