Troy Whitfield Lane III, 58, died on Wednesday, April 19, at home in Rusk under hospice care after a long illness. He was born in Culver City, California to the late Troy Lane II and Carolee Lane. He worked in corrections in Arizona and Texas before retiring. He leaves behind his loving wife of 39 years, Bobbie Lane. He is also survived by his two brothers, Rudy Lane and Joey Stinson, as well as his five children: Brittany Lankford and her husband Vincent Lankford from Rusk, TX; Tony Lane and his partner Madison Castillo from Woodville, TX; and Jonathan Lane, Niko Lane, and Troy Lane IV of Rusk, TX. He has eight grandchildren: Ryan of Woodville; and Aiden, Autumn, Alice, Nathaniel, Henley, Avery, and Asher of Rusk. Troy had a great sense of humor and loved fishing, playing guitar, and woodworking. He had a dad joke or an elaborate story ready at all times. There will be a memorial service at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Jacksonville, TX at 1 pm on Friday, April 28th, 2023. Anyone is welcome to come help celebrate his life.
