Walter (Oscar) Ronald Darden

Walter (Oscar) Ronald Darden, a devoted family man, gifted carpenter, and master of all trades, passed away on May 10, 2025, at the age of 80 in Jacksonville Texas. Known for his tireless work ethics, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to those he loved, Walter leaves behind a legacy of kindness, craftsmanship, and service.

Born on April 13, 1945, in Colorado City, Texas, Walter found his passion early in life through working with his hands. Whether building floors, fixing what was broken, or helping a neighbor in need, there was nothing he couldn’t do—and no one he wouldn’t help. He worked right up until his passing, always committed to doing his best for others.

Walter's greatest joy came from being surrounded by his family. He had a special bond with children, whether they were his own or part of the extended circle of friends and neighbors. His warm smile, steady presence, and playful spirit brought comfort and laughter to everyone he met.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Darden, Daughter Tonya Keith, Daughter Jamie Fisher, and son David Darden. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, cherishing every moment with them. His warm sprit, playful sense of humor, and gentle wisdom left a lasting mark on all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.

Walter will be cremated per his wishes, and his family will honor his life in a private remembrance. His legacy of love, craftsmanship, and strength will live on in the hearts and hands of those he helped and loved.

Walter will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His hands built more than just things—they built a life full of love, connection, and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages act of kindness in Walter’s memory- helping someone in need, fixing what's broken, or simply being there for the family, as he always was.
